The Finals!

Welcome everyone to the Cycle 9 Finals! This particular finals is bittersweet to me. It's sweet because I'll get to see the beautiful work you girls will come up with. On the other hand it is also bitter because it might be the last cycle for at least 2-3 months, or maybe ever. After 4 years, it's been a great run but I don't know if I can keep things running by myself. Sophie (x-x-perfect-x-x) has been such a great help, but it's pretty difficult. But don't worry. I haven't made my final decision yet, so for now, let's enjoy the talent our lovely models have. 

I would also like to announce our guest judge, the owner of Stardoll Model Finders: Fashiongirl1290! She will be helping x-x-Perfect-x-x and I choose the winner and will place them in her agency!

The finals will be split into three different tasks-

Print/Advertisement:

For this, you will be creating a covergirl commercial. The theme behind the commercial is back to school. The item you will be selling is lipstick/lip gloss. It can be either or really. What we will be looking for is how well you wear the product, pose, creativity, and script. Your script is just as important as your photo. Your face should show us what the lip stick/lip gloss does and how it looks, but the script should tell us. For inspiration, look at the current covergirl commercial ads feature Drew Barrymore, Taylor Swift, or Sofia Vergara.

Full Body Shot;

The full body shot photo is the typical photos your used to doing in previous tasks. That's just the name I use. You will each be assigned a type of dance to portray. I'm an avid dancer and love to dance. Dance is all about expressing yourself through movements and telling a story through your body. Keep these three components in mind: character, atmosphere, and emotion. Your should be telling some sort of story with your pose. Your background should reflect your dance and you should show some sort of emotion related to your dance.

The last photo is completely up to you! It's a freestyle which means that there is no theme. It can be anything you want as long is there is a pose. You will be judged on your pose and creativity. This is the perfect chance for you to show the judges and myself what your made of and why you deserve to win. Push your limits and just have fun with it. I can't wait to see what you girls come up with! Of course I can't forget to mention the prizes that you are working towards!

Task Four Eliminations

Hello everyone and welcome to our semi-finals elimination ceremony. We can only accept three of the best girls based on their past photos and the photos from last task. One girl will be eliminated and will not be in the running for Dollywood's Next Top Model. So let's get started.

This task was divided into two parts; a headshot; focusing on your facial features, and the usually full body shot, which requires a pose. The girls with the best photo and definite spots in the finals are..

That leaves us with the bottom two. Bracken1234 & Forevera. Unfortunately one of you will have to leave the competition and will not be in the finals. Let's take a look at your photos;

I didn't expect to see you here in the bottom two, but you somehow managed to end here. It's an okay pose.  I understand that you were trying to take a risk and push yourself, but it's just kind of awkward. First off, the clothes aren't appealing. The bottom part of the outfit looks really choppy and cluttered. Think to yourself. If you saw this outfit, would you were it? Did you really think it looked good? I like the makeup, however as Sophie said, it could definitely be stronger and more fierce. 


I feel that it's the fact that you used two different background colors that really set the photo off. Plus the clutter of your necklace. However, the red lipstick really really compliments your makeup. 




Forevera

I hate to say this but this is really boring. There's nothing spectacular about this photo. It's just...boring. There so much more that could have been done. There's just nothing really eye popping and doesn't attract the viewer. You really lower your standards with this photo. And that isn't a good thing.



Like the last photo, there's non visual appeal. I'm not drawn to the photo. It just seems blank and lifeless. Your outfit is okay. Okay doesn't cut it. It's the semi-finals, not the first task. The outfit isn't what I would consider couture. There's just so much more you could have done. It's not fitting and doesn't spark interest.






It's hard to let one of you go but that's how it has to be, You both very talented girls abd have potential, but unfortunately one of you will be leaving the competition. The girl who will be leaving the competition and will not be in the finals is..

Task Four, Semi-Finals

Hello everyone and welcome to the Semi-Finals! There are four girls left but only 3 spots in the finals. This is where the girls will be giving their all to make it to the finals and be crowned Dollywood's Next Top Model. Unlike the other tasks, the semi-finals will consist of two photos; a beauty shot and a full body pose. You will be judged on both photos which will determine your spot in the finals.

Beauty Shot;
The close up shots are my favorite tasks because it's all about your eyes. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. In previous cycles the beauty shot was an underwater theme. This cycle, you will be recreating the ANTM Cycle 6 Bald Swarovski crystal photo. You will all be going bald but the key to this photo is facial structure and makeup. What we're looking for in this photo are,
-Creativity with makeup
-Emotion

For this photo, we should only see you from the neck and up.



Full Body Shot;
The theme for this photo should be High Couture Fashion.There is much freedom with this photo, but what we're looking for in this photo is;
-Creative, sharp, and polished poses
-Creativity with fashion
Now is not the time to make any mistakes, so make sure your arms and edges are smooth and not sharp.

Task 3 Elimination Ceremony;

Hello everyone and welcome to the third elimination ceremony of Cycle 9. Unfortunately we lost a very great model. _Calmgirl_ has dropped out of the competition due to vacationing. The Bottom Two;

There are four spots in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, one girl will not earn that spot.

There are so many sharp edges in your pose and I feel like you've had this problem before. It's a nice pose but like Sophie said, some areas don't look realistic. Your back arm seems too thin, including the arm coming across your body. It's very important to make sure your body and the pose looks realistic.

The photo is too cluttered for this pose which is distracting. Again, your pose does not look realistic as wekk. It actually looks painful, especially the front leg.  Your elbow looks too sharp when it should be rounded. I agree with Sophie, your face is very beautiful, but the clutter of the background just takes so much away.

Task Three; Practice Makes Perfect

With six girls left in the competition, things are about to get tougher. But that doesn't mean things can't get better! This task is a prize task. That means, the girl with the best photo will win 50 stardollars. Sound good huh? So, what is it that you have to do? This week's task is all about perfecting your pose. That means, you will be judged and critiqued solely on your posing. We don't want a lavished background or stylish outfit. We're testing your posing abilities here. We want you to go outside your comfort zone of posing. Really push the limits here. Come up with something creative. Whatever it is, make sure it's model worthy.

Hello everyone and welcome to the second elimination ceremony of Cycle 9. Unlike like the last task, this time, someone will be leaving the competition.

Georgiagirl.1, your photo did not impress the judges. Your photo should be about YOU! You should always be the main focus of your photo. You're supposed to grab the viewer's attention and make us notice you. In this photo, it was hard, considering that you were all the way in the corner hiding. Like x-x-perfect-x-x said, "You need to base your scene around your doll, the model and them build around that and the outfit and the pose."

Chantall.., Honestly, you didn't want to do the task, and I wasn't forcing you. You told me you were going to leave the competition, but still did the task: with little effort. If you wanted to leave, you should have just left because judging by your photo, there's nothing to judge honestly.

Task Two; Classy, Not Trashy

Hello everyone. Hopefully after a disappointing start to the cycle, maybe we can make a few improvements. If you are not able to complete a task, please notify myself or one of the judges. 


The next task will be based on a black & white 1900's shot. It should be classy and elegant, think Chanel, or Givenchy. The key of this photo is to portray class, poise, and elegance. I will take each photo and edit them, turning them into a black & white shot. Try to incoporate an art deco theme, or anything that makes the photo "classy".Please make sure to include a pose which normally boosts your chance of moving on to the next task. If you fail to complete this task, you will automatically have one strike against you (that is, if you do not contact me beforehand). 


The deadline for this task is, July 29th.


Unlike like the previous task, there will be an elimination!
